Since the closure of the Phlebotomy Clinics at Hillingdon Hospital Outpatient Department on 11^th January 2021 further additional clinics are available at the following GP surgeries via our own receptionist at Devonshire Lodge:

Central Uxbridge Surgery – Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday 8am to 12 noon

Eastcote Health Centre – Saturday from 09:00am to 5:00pm only

Harefield Practice – Tuesday and Friday mornings

Yiewsley Family Practice – patients can use ’Book your blood test’ icon on the practice website – if patients leave their details the practice admin staff will phone them up to book the appointment.

Seasonal flu occurs every year, usually in the winter. It’s a highly infectious disease caused by a virus. The most likely viruses that will cause flu each year are identified in advance and vaccines are then produced that closely match them.  Colds are much less serious and usually start gradually with a stuffy or runny nose and a sore throat.  Flu symptoms hit you suddenly and severely. They usually include fever, chills, headaches and aching muscles, and you can often get a cough and sore throat at the same time.  Because flu is caused by viruses and not bacteria, antibiotics won’t treat it.

Don’t wait until there is a flu outbreak: if you are invited to receive a vaccine please come along to the practice.

Care Connection Teams (CCTs) look after patients aged 65 years and over, who have been identified by the GPs as needing case management because of their health and social care needs.

Some services are offered not directly by the Practice, but by the Community Trust, based at the counter to the left of the waiting area when entering reception.

These service are:

• Blood Tests
• Physiotherapy
• Chiropody
• Continence Advice
• Speech Therapy

The Trust also administers the health visitor and district nurse services. Health visitors provide expertise in care, management, development and well-being of children 0-5 years and their families. District nurses provide nursing care and treatment to the housebound and those recently discharged from hospital

After referral by the Practice the Trust can be contracted at their counter or on 01895 488810.

H4All provide a free Wellbeing service for Hillingdon residents aged 65 and over that need support to better manage long term health conditions, frailty, social isolation and to bring people into greater contact with their local community.

Do you need vaccinations?

Our Nurses can provide comprehensive travel health advice and arrange for appropriate immunisations. Please arrange an appointment for a travel consultation at least 6-8 weeks before departure if possible. Vaccines need time to take effect and some may require a course over several weeks.

We offer a full travel advice and immunisation service. If you are travelling abroad please complete and submit the travel form in plenty of time (we recommend 6-8 weeks) before your journey. Please contact reception who can supply the necessary form.

Travel Vaccination Prices

Travel advice is covered by the NHS; however some vaccinations and prescriptions are only available privately. Payment for non-NHS services must be made at the first travel appointment.
